What it is
Calgary runs the largest home energy labelling effort in the country — modelled scores for more than 350,000 homes and EnerGuide evaluations on five to ten thousand new homes a year, focused on new construction. Two honest caveats: the incentives that paid builders to label stopped in December 2025, and EnerGuide labels are not mandatory for new homes in Calgary. Builders still label because buyers increasingly ask, not because anyone is making them.
