This programme requires a pre-retrofit and a post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation by a registered energy advisor working under a licensed Service Organization. That is what we are.

What it is

Both of these run through energy advisors working under a licensed Service Organization — the licence issues the certificate and the label, which is why a builder cannot self-certify. There is a persistent rumour that ENERGY STAR for New Homes is ending, driven by turbulence in the American programme. NRCan's own pages carry no such notice. We will say so plainly, and we will also tell you the day that changes.
