Do you need an energy evaluation for this?

Evaluation required, before and after

This programme requires a pre-retrofit and a post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation by a registered energy advisor working under a licensed Service Organization. That is what we are.

What it is

People searching for a home energy loan are usually looking for the federal one, which has closed. What still exists is municipal and it is genuinely good: Ottawa lends up to $125,000 at a fixed rate over twenty years, Guelph lends up to $50,000 at zero per cent, and more than twenty-five Alberta municipalities run the Clean Energy Improvement Program, which attaches the loan to the property tax bill rather than to you. All of them require an EnerGuide evaluation before and after the work.

Dates and status

Federal loan closed. Ottawa, Guelph and the Alberta CEIP municipalities continue.

No published figures

The issuing body does not publish amounts for this programme on its own page, so we do not reproduce any here. If somebody quotes you a number for it, ask them where it came from.
